SVZ recently sponsored ‘Climbing for Children’, a project initiated by a small group of Danone employees from Baby and Medical Nutrition to raise money for a new water hole in Arusha SOS Children's Village in Tanzania. On 12th February, this group of employees climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, which at 5,897m has the highest peak in Africa. By sponsoring this expedition we help the SOS Children’s Village, which cares for 100 children and is currently facing major water shortage. The problem can be solved by drilling a second borehole or deepen the existing one to increase the water supply to the village, and by installing a pumping system, water delivery pipe work and storage facilities. That way, safe drinking water for 200 children will be guaranteed.
