SVZ – A New Strategic Direction

Following a thorough market analysis both internally and by an independent consultancy SVZ announced on the 25th January a new strategy to create a platform for growth and profitability. It will secure the position of SVZ as a global player in its chosen market segments which reflect areas that are currently core to the business.

Sustainable agricultural sourcing and processing of fruits and vegetables are key aspects of our corporate strategy. As our business is based on natural ingredients, we understand the importance of taking responsibility to help preserve our nature’s resources. SVZ’s sustainability strategy focuses on sourcing, producing, and organizing the supply chain efficiently. We do so in a responsible manner for our internal and external stakeholders and society, whilst cooperating with other stakeholders in the food supply chain.

Responding to market growth & opportunities in North America

Amidst the dismal unemployment rates, continued housing crisis and other sluggish economic indicators is a quiet but encouraging sign of resilience - the food manufacturing industry. While other industry sectors have lost thousands of jobs in the last 2-3 years, North American food manufacturers have maintained or added jobs during the same time period. Most food companies would admit this has not been a period of economic boom, but more like a steady hold in the storm. However, storms do create the perfect environment for evaluating business models, production practices, external partnerships and internal resources, thus challenging the status quo.

SVZ Expands Aseptic Processing Capability in Washington State

SVZ-USA, international producer and supplier of fruit and vegetable ingredients for the global food industry will install a new aseptic production line in 2011. This builds on SVZ’s aseptic capability in fruit ingredients; enabling the plant to run both low and high acid raw materials into aseptic formats. In addition to frozen vegetable purees and juice concentrates, the new line will launch SVZ into the aseptic vegetable ingredient market.  

Area Sales Manager

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Joyce van Praat (30) has been appointed as Area Sales Manager Benelux as of January 2011. Joyce has been working at SVZ for 4 years, holding positions in product development, product management and business intelligence.

Sponsoring ‘Climbing for Children’

SVZ recently sponsored ‘Climbing for Children’, a project initiated by a small group of Danone employees from Baby and Medical Nutrition to raise money for a new water hole in Arusha SOS Children's Village in Tanzania.
